NOTICE OF TERMINATION:

Implementation of specific provisions of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act is changing the rules and utility for using prepaid debit cards (including the "PrepaidHealthcare MasterCard®" managed by WiredBenefits) for Health Reimbursement Accounts. Starting January 1, 2011, the Internal Revenue service is restricting the usage of prepaid debit cards by reducing the list of Over the Counter and prescription items that may be purchased using the card.

Hence, the WiredBenefits PrepaidHealthcare MasterCard® is being discontinued December 31, 2010. Cards will not be active starting January 1, 2011. Please note:
  • No new employers will be accepted
  • Existing employers cannot add new employees to their roster
  • Existing employers may not reload existing cards AFTER December 10, 2010
  • All cards will be closed as of 11:59pm December 31, 2010
  • Existing Cardholders may not add a Spouse Card
  • Existing Cardholders must file their manual claims before Feb. 28, 2011 (unless the employer decides to terminate this program at an earlier date)
  • After Feb. 28, 2011, any existing balances remaining on employee cards will be returned to the employer
We apologize for any inconvenience.

Helping Your Employees Access the Health Care They Need

PrepaidHealtcare MasterCard® makes it simple for you to provide access to the health care products and services your employees use every day – medical, dental, vision, prescription and over-the-counter medications.

Your employees will find the PrepaidHealthcare MasterCard® simple and safe to use. They just swipe the card at the point-of-sale reader at checkout and enter "CREDIT". If the balance on their card does not cover the cost of the purchase or service, payment must be made at the time of purchase by some other method. Receipts should be saved to comply with IRS guidelines for all health care purchases.

The PrepaidHealthcare MasterCard® is welcomed by all health care providers who accept Debit MasterCard® – including pharmacy-based clinics, some of which offer discounted services to cardholders. Health care related purchases may be made at all IIAS certified merchants and pharmacies where prescriptions and over-the-counter medications are sold with no claims processing required.
