NOTICE OF TERMINATION:

Implementation of specific provisions of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act is changing the rules and utility for using prepaid debit cards (including the "PrepaidHealthcare MasterCard®" managed by WiredBenefits) for Health Reimbursement Accounts. Starting January 1, 2011, the Internal Revenue service is restricting the usage of prepaid debit cards by reducing the list of Over the Counter and prescription items that may be purchased using the card.

Hence, the WiredBenefits PrepaidHealthcare MasterCard® is being discontinued December 31, 2010. Cards will not be active starting January 1, 2011. Please note:
  • No new employers will be accepted
  • Existing employers cannot add new employees to their roster
  • Existing employers may not reload existing cards AFTER December 10, 2010
  • All cards will be closed as of 11:59pm December 31, 2010
  • Existing Cardholders may not add a Spouse Card
  • Existing Cardholders must file their manual claims before Feb. 28, 2011 (unless the employer decides to terminate this program at an earlier date)
  • After Feb. 28, 2011, any existing balances remaining on employee cards will be returned to the employer

The WiredBenefits team has delivered state-of-the-art, fully functional, compliant, administrative and member worksites to the country's leading payroll providers and TPAs since 1999.

Charles Marshall, President and CEO

Charles Marshall is the CEO and co-founder of WiredBenefits. He brings over 30 years of experience in building companies, products and services to meet the needs of healthcare providers, consumers and employers.

Charles started his career at HP, after receiving his MBA from UCLA, where he served in a number of management and executive roles in their International and Medical Electronics Divisions. He left HP in the early 90's and has since co-founded four companies in the financial services and employee benefits' automation industries that have either gone public or been successfully acquired. His last company, WiredCommute, is the back office provider for Sec. 132 flex account benefits administration for the nation's leading payroll providers including ADP and Ceridian. WiredCommute was acquired in 2004 by Accor Corporation of France.

Mr. Marshall also served as chairman of Dealix, Inc., a leading online shopping and media platform for the automotive industry. He is chairman of the Law Enforcement Technology Information Exchange (LETIX), a non-profit he co-founded that is developing online solutions, in cooperation with leading financial services providers, for law enforcement agencies.

Larry van der Veen, Chief Technology Officer

Larry has spent forty-four years in Information Technology as an applied software engineering manager, professional consultant, chief technologist, and senior manager of broad-based IT and technical support groups.

His engineering management and software development competence had as its foundation ten years of programming and managing projects for NASA's Pioneer Venus project, followed by employment and consulting engagements to develop and deploy mission critical business applications and their underlying platforms. Participating as a senior executive, he has managed large groups, ranging up to 200 people, providing technical services to external and internal customers. The roles that Larry has managed include IT, Software Engineering, Service Operations, and consultancy practices for companies including WiredBenefits Inc., Accor Services USA, WebTV, Lotus Development (Vanguard Business Solutions), Pyramid Technology, Data General, Fortune, GRiD Systems, Digital Equipment, and Compression Labs.

With the rapid growth of internet and wireless related companies, Larry provided IT and operations management within many venture start-ups, assuming leadership of IT, service operations, engineering, and projects office organizations. Recent experiences with WiredBenefits, WiredCommute LLC (acquired by Accor Services USA), WebTV (acquired my Microsoft), and Vanguard Business solutions (acquired by Lotus Development) have proven his skills in understanding requirements and building organizations and systems to support front-line service and back-office systems strategic imperatives.

Stephen Manthey, Chief Financial Officer

Stephen Manthey is the CFO for WiredBenefits with complete responsibility for all finance, accounting, and administrative functions. He has over 29 years experience with extensive knowledge of credit card programs and management.

Stephen worked for over 10 years with First Data Corp and over 13 years with Accor, SA. Accor Services, SA is the world's largest, prepaid card company and hotel company based in Paris, France. He has been an officer and board member for numerous companies throughout his career including most recently WiredCommute. Stephen also has expertise in Mergers, Acquisitions and IPO's having completed over 11 to date.

He has been recognized by the Association of Financial Professionals as one of the country's top 300 Treasurers. He has also served on various banking, NACHA and finance committees along with being a frequent guest speaker and author for various finance education and banking seminars.

Stephen Manthey received his Master of Science in Business from Colorado State University in 1981 specializing in Finance; and a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from CSU in 1980. He is a Certified Treasury Professional.

Jib Martens, Vice President of Sales

Jib Martens heads up worldwide sales for WiredBenefits. He is an entrepreneur with extensive perspective on the health care market with over twenty years of sales, business development, strategic planning, financial and clinical management experience in the healthcare industry. He has successfully launched, built, managed and financed new and established companies.

Prior to joining WiredBenefits, Jib was a Principal at JHD Group, founded and ran Risk and Reinsurance Advisory Services, LLC, QuickCompliance, LLC (a healthcare e-learning company) and Beacon Partners (a business development and financial advisory firm,) was an executive at Confer Software (a disease management company,) an Associate Partner at Accenture, a Senior Associate at APM Healthcare Consulting and a Banking Officer at Chemical Bank (now JPMorgan Chase).

Jib holds an MBA from the Amos Tuck School of Business Administration at Dartmouth College where he was an Edward Tuck Scholar and holds a BA in economics with a concentration in physics from Middlebury College where he graduated cum laude.

Gregory Strauss, Vice President of Business Development

Gregory brings 18 years of healthcare sales, marketing, financial and strategic planning experience to WiredBenefits. Mr. Strauss oversees global health and wellness business development and partnership activities with Fortune 500 organizations, health plans, healthcare vendors, consulting organizations, pharmaceutical companies, and government entities.

Prior to joining WiredBenefits, Mr. Strauss developed and launched the healthcare programming at IncentOne a leading integrated incentive solutions provider, serving as the Vice President of Sales, Health and Productivity Solutions. Mr. Strauss has guided design and delivery of strategic partnerships around the improvement of health and wellness program utilization for Fortune 500 companies and large healthcare organizations across the country.

Previously Gregory led all sales and marketing activities as the Director of Sales for Pharos Innovations, a health technology organization that focuses on remote patient engagement and behavior change in members with chronic diseases.

Mr. Strauss has held various sales positions at GlaxoSmithKline, is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, Chicago Healthcare Executives Forum, graduate of Lake Forest Graduate School of Management and the former Communications Chairman of the Lake Forest Caucus Committee.

Kevin Spencer, Director of Customer Service

Kevin Spencer is the Director of Customer Service for WiredBenefits, and oversees all facets of making customers successful. He has over 10 years of experience working with financial services institutions.

Kevin started his career in Customer Service with Bank of America, quickly working his way up through the ranks. He was recognized numerous times for outstanding service and sales achievements. Using his approach to customer service and sales, Kevin assisted in developing training modules. He helped facilitate each segment in new hire training classes, which had a positive impact on success as measured through statistics gathered across the center.

After several promotions within the department, he went on to manage other successful teams, helping develop and pilot new programs that were implemented throughout five different call centers in California and acted as MBNA conversion site champion. One of his notable achievements was being recognized as one of the top call center managers nationwide for consistently surpassing organizational goals, exceeding targeted performance variances and contributing to process improvements.

Chris Kocher, Director of Products

Chris Kocher heads up marketing and product management at WiredBenefits. He brings over 25 years of experience working with large Global 2000 companies as well as early stage startups.

Chris began his career at Hewlett-Packard and was responsible for managing the introduction of some of HP's pioneering technologies including HP's first laser printer, first PC, and early client server systems. He went on to manage one of HP's initial Independent Software Vendor programs before leaving to be a VP GM at Symantec where he grew one of the acquired business units from start up to a $25M business. Since leaving Symantec, Chris has advised over 100 early stage companies on accelerating revenues and increasing company valuations. Many of them went on to receive further rounds of funding, mergers, buyouts and other liquidity events for investors. He has also advised Visa, Account Now and other financial service companies on growth initiatives.

He holds an MBA from Columbia University in marketing and international business and a BA from Princeton University in Political Science and International Affairs.
